Sky Talk question

Just wondered if anyone else has had this problem. We pay Sky by debit card monthly. We were late in paying this month and the day we paid it on-line they cut off our phone later that day. I called them and they said it had been done automatically as the payment had not yet registered on their system (fair enough) but assured me it would be on within 72 hours... over a week later I am still waiting.
They also said that their new policy, since we didn't have DD set up, was to pay 2 months in arrears. We didn't have the money to do this so were basically forced into setting up DD.
I have also spoke to a work colleague in a similar position who is still waiting, after 6 weeks to have their phone back on.
After calling them daily and sending a complaint via e-mail I am no further forward. They basically say it is a problem in their IT department resulting from me paying it on the day it was cut off. They say 'the IT department cannot re-instate the phone as they have no note of it being restricted in the first place??!!.
Unsure where to go from here.
