Play trade sellers beware

Hi All

I thought I should just give out a warning to anyone who uses play trade. I was until today a frequent user of play trade and have sold several item, some with quite a high value. This will not be the case anymore!!

On the 20th July I sold a blu-ray to a man, I posted out first class on the same day and received my proof of postage. On the 23rd the gentleman left feedback stating that he had received the item next day, it was excellent and he was very pleased. You can imagine my surprise when I receive an email for this chap stating that he has not received the item and expects a full refund .

Believing this to be a error I replied stating that he had left feeback saying he had the item, therefore had no longer kept the proof of postage and was a little confused,, but if he wanted to persue royal mail I was more than happy to provide any info required but did not feel comfortable doing this myself as he had confirmed receipt. I then contacted play.com who advised me to ignore any further correspondance and if the received a claim would reject it.

I later received an email stating he had left feedback for the wrong item, something which is very difficult to do, trust me the site is not like ebay where you can leave feedback en-masse, and that he had checked and it was MY responsibility to claim. As play.com advised I ignored the email. I then received a third email stating that he could see I was not willing to help so would persue other ways to get his money back.

The next day I receive two emails from play.com one stating he has withdrawn his feedback????? Why is this possible? And the second saying that I needed to prove him with a refund. I emailed play back explaining the situation and advise they had given. I received a further email stating they had contacted him he had given a RESONABLE?? explaination and I needed to refund him.

At this point I again call play.com who after 20 mins (of being passed around and then placed on hold) inform me that yes I need to refund him, I am liable and they are not interested!!! He also informs that as I have funds in my account these will be used to refund him.

I'm not proud of it but I then lost my temper withdrew all my money in my account and changed my account details so they couldn't take the money from there! I also suspended my own account and informed him that i would NEVER use play.com for ANYTHING EVER AGAIN!!! I know its not very grown up but how can I be held accountable for this chaps 'mistake' at what point do you throw away proof of postage?

Sorry for the VERY long thread but I though people should be aware of how little help you will receive as a seller on play trade.

Sorry for the long rant but I
