Edinburghlass wrote:With TalkTalk you can call other TalkTalk customers for free but not ALL land line calls
Ok I want to be clear on this. What I'm actually talking about is Talk 3 call plan which says
"Unlimited number of calls between all customers on the TalkTalk network for up to 3 hours per call at no extra cost"
"Unlimited number of inclusive calls to any local and national UK landline number, anytime"
Doesn't the word "inclusive" in the second paragraph mean these calls are included in the price of the package and are therefore efectively free once the pakage has been paid for?0 -

Does anyone know at what point they do? ie are they barred to all as soon as you join, or as soon as you use one, or if you use them excessively and if so what is excessive?
I ask because I make about 5 x one hour long phone calls per month to a land line in Switzerland and if I was barred from using 18185 for these it would cost me £12.00 a month more = £144 per year which would eat up the £120.00 I thought I was going to save.
I think I better ask talk talk while I can still cancell my order!0 -

The first part is TalkTalk to TalkTalk customers which are free, no "package" required. The second part as you say is a package which you are paying for and so not FREE calls, you are paying for them every month even if you never touch the phone for a month. Also these calls are restricted to 70 minutes.0 -
Yes, as long as you remember to redial after 69 minutes.Personally I'm always ready to learn, although I do not always like being taught - Sir Winston Churchill0

You could opt for the TalkTalk3 International option - same price as TalkTalk3 for 6 months and then £1 a month extra.Personally I'm always ready to learn, although I do not always like being taught - Sir Winston Churchill0 -

Ф Possible alternative CPS providers (depending on your usage pattern)
(i) if you regularly make international calls to Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Jamaica, Luxembourg, Malta, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland or USA and are willing to be tied into an 18 month contract, Euphony's £4.33 per month (averaged price) eutalk+18 package may be of interest. Its two main attractions are that it is inclusive of all calls to landlines in those 28 countries and to UK 01/02 numbers (up to 60 minutes in each case). Remember though that the monthly subscription will apply even when you're away on holiday and not using the 'phone at all. Phone 01256 857 000.

Phone 01256 857 000.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -

I looked at that but Switzerland is not on the list of International destinations for this plan. They are not in the EU (at least they don't use Euros). unfortunately.0 -
Good point.
This might be an alternative option

2p a minute to Switzerland.
or, if it's the same number every time, why not both use Skype and that will reduce the cost to zero.Personally I'm always ready to learn, although I do not always like being taught - Sir Winston Churchill0 -
