Travelodge booked ... now trains!

Anyone know of any offers for train fares from Newcastle to London in September? I tried GNER but they dont allow you to do more than 3 months in advance. It says on their website you can get £20 return, but is this realistic?
I know we have made a heck of a saving on the acomodation, but would be nice to top it off with cheap train fares too!
Any ideas?

Yes, it is realistic. They are advertised as £20 return, but are achieved by purchasing two £10 singles. This allows you to 'mix and match' the cheap single tickets depending on whats available for each leg of your journey. They have 4 bands of cheap single tickets starting at £10 (followed by £18.50, £25.50 and £33.50) for standard, and £29.50 up to £74.50 for first class.
They should be on sale about 10-12 weeks prior to the date of travel.
EDIT: to say that if you book these fares you MUST travel on the trains you are booked on.0
