Cobblers!

DH was scouring Swanage today, searching for an obscure tap washer (a problem that seems to occur regularly ), when he was accosted by an old lady, obviously upset, who had just come out of the cobbler's next door.
She'd just collected a handbag she'd taken in for repair, and when she told the cobbler she didn't think he'd done the job very well, he told her to "Go away, you stupid old bat."
Well, perhaps she was wrong, but that is no excuse for such rudeness, and given that the population of Swanage is heavily weighted towards the elderly, he presumably has little respect for most of his customers.
Whatever happened to "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." ??
(BTW, it wasn't the shop in the High St.

:rotfl:Sounds silly, doesn't it? Good replies!
But it still seems wrong to me to intimidate those who are weaker than you, and you assume have no voice.0 -
There are people in life who run businesses and I am just continually amazed that they actually survive. Hopefully he will run out of business soon once the old dear and you spreads the word.
I am mildly in love with my local cobblers actuallyHe's fab.
A shop near me was selling Sky satellite systems. I was after a second hand box for our new rented property - and as far as I could see - I just needed the box and remote. He then proceeded to dazzle me with technical terms, making out like I was an idiot, and then when I said if anything was surplus I could just bring it back? He said "What do you think this is? Effing Argos?". Tut.
And he was selling the second hand box for £150... When sky were running a promotion on an engineer installing the satellite for you, box, no subscriptions, for £75....
Every time I see his shop still running I'm amazed he's in business!!I love surprises!0
