Cancelling an AA Contents Insurance Policy - They want to charge what?

Hi,

I went on to a comparison website and found that endseligh were alot cheaper than my current porvider the AA. They claimed that I would have to pay £36 for cancelling, even though I've been with them 2 years. Can they do this? and is there anyway out of it?

Appreciate your help in advance

Who claimed you'd have to pay £36? The AA or Endsleigh?

Have you checked the Ts & Cs of your AA policy re cancellation? Did you pay the full premium up front or have it on monthly payments?

If you haven't got your policy booklet you can see the Ts & Cs re cancellation here .

I can't understand why you want to cancel? If you cancel mid term you will pay an admin fee with most insurers. Change at the end of the year, it will cost you nothing

if you pay monthly then you will have to pay the remainder of your policy as they pay the insurer up front
You got to get through what you've got to go through to get what you want but you got to know what you want to get through what you got to go through.

Endsleigh may be cheaper but my one experience of trying to claim on one of their policies was dire - repeatedly bouncing back the claim for extra pieces of information, impossible to get through on the phone - even one of their agents couldn't get through!

Maybe you get what you pay for?

I agree, insurance is a service based product, not a tin of beans, make sure that you are comparing like with like.
