Hi. Ive been offered £113.00 by Lloyds TSB. Ive got an outstanding account with them which Im paying off at reduced payments due to hardship, but theyve said they are going to take it off my overall outstanding balance. Can i ask for the cash instead as Im badly in need of it ?

The basic answer is no you can't but does the amount clear your debt with them or not?

  • Same thing, I'm claiming £3500 in PPI against a -£12,000 credit card.
    (most definately in hardship)
5 letters later and Lloyds will only pay into the account (fair enough)
So I've sent it to the ombudsman............

What the hell, worth it in my case.
Currently keeping my head above water and learning to swim.

Only pay what YOU can pay, THEY won't starve !

Debts can, and i'm sure they do KILL

  • I claimed £7290.83 from Abbey and just received a letter saying that the had repaid £5506.00. However, £2739.20 of this they sent to their collections and recoveries team to clear my debt on an Abbey loan! Can they do this as I didn't authorise this payment as it's unsecured and I needed the money for repayment of arrears on my mortgage. Any advice would be welcomed.

Ask Abbey for a financial hardship closure letter. Additional borrowing is not what I would expect to see to be honest/

  • NO THE AMOUNT THEYVE OFFERED DOESNT CLEAR MY ACCOUNT...NOWHERE NEAR UNFORTUNATELY, AND IM STILL PAYING A STUPID AMOUTN OF INTEREST SO IT PROB WONT EVEN GO TOWARD REDUCING MY DEBT....JUST PAYING THEIR INTEREST!!!

Please be careful when you use CAPS lock as it appears as though you are shouting.
To clarify, was the £113.00 the FULL amount of the charges you claimed for plus the interest?
