Help please-kia failed mot

Just got my kia carens 2001 back from mot centre. Its failed on the headlamps. Kia has quoted me £400 for new headlamps. Tried loads of scrap yards for some, but no joy. Does anyone know anywhere that i can get from. Thanks in advance.

Could you describe the actual fault? What does it say on the failure certificate?

It says nearside front(lens faded). Headlamp nit in good working order adversly affecting beam image (1.2.4a)
and
Offside front Headlamp aIm too low (1.6)

So the offside one only needs adjusting, that has saved you buying one of them.;)

You may be able to locate the nearside one on eBay.

Mechanic adjusted it, but the beam on that is clouded over too now. He took the headlights apart and cleaned them, but its like the plastic has faded and scratched.

you can get headlmap restore kits to polish up faded lenses ...sposed to work pretty good

aim is a 2 min job with a screwdriver at the mot center

Thanks Steveo, car just sailed through mot test, highly recommend headlamp restore kit
