You can claim JSA for as long as you are actively seeking and available for work. If you are offered a job for e.g. three months time and then stop looking for work in the interim your entitlement will cease. If you continue to look for temporary work, your entitlement will continue.Gone ... or have I?0

When you start a new job. Not when you are offered a job as your start date may not be immediate.
You could argue that you are still looking for work as a better employment offer may be around the corner.Iva started Dec 2018.0 -

They would expect you to continue to seek work as normal till the job starts. You could get a better job or just some temp work in between.

It was halfway in between for me! I'm sure they must have interpreted the rules wrongly, though.
After uni, I got a graduate job in a different area after a few months of looking. I notified the office of when my start date would be, and explained that I could not sign on on my usual day because I would be moving to the other end of the country the week beforehand - I asked if I could sign on beforehand or if I even needed to because getting a job was clearly evidence that I had been looking for one.
I was denied my whole fortnight's JSA because they said that as I had 'admitted' that I was not going to be able to attend signing on appointments to prove that I was looking for work, then I was ineligible for the benefit! I appealed several times, complaining that I should not be denied JSA for the past couple of weeks purely because I had found myself a job, but they stuck to their guns!0 -

bb - I suppose the aguement is if you can't make the appoinments due to moving then you wouldn't be available for work either ...0 -
One of the main conditions for receipt of JSA is "available for work".
If you can't sign you aren't available for work. Silly really as you would think they would allow some grace period. Fair enough it could be conditional on proof that the job exists ie confirm with the employer etc and limit it to say 2 weeks before the job starts.
