should i re-new passport?

hi
my passport expires in December i think (not got it to hand
) and am off to thailand on 1st June for 3 weeks. Should i renew it before i go? I've heard some countries dont like you only having a few months left on it

Some countries require your passport to be valid for 6 months after your trip. So might be worth checking that out.
As for renewing. Passports can be renewed before they expire up to 9 months I think and they just add the extra months onto the new passport.0 -
From FCO travel advice:
If you want to be on the safe side, I would get it renewed. I've just had mine renewed - it took less than 1 week from posting the application form to getting my new passport.Entry to Thailand is normally refused if you have a passport with less than six months validity.0 -
I think you can renew a passport at any time but they will only give you a max of 9 months credit for any "unused" time.0
