Demitri is Russian and means Child of the Earth
Dante is Italian and means endurance
Anya is Russian and means grace or favour
Darla is native american and means dear one/darling
I like names that have a meaning behind them, hence 2 choices for each. If we have a boy we might not feel he`s a Dante or isn't quite a Demitri. At the same time we want names that are a bit different, when I was in school everyone was called natasha, emma, claire or sarah for some reason.

p.s we're both brits and from very british familys albeit weird ones lolHappily married mama of 50 -
Aww SJ! Poor you. Glad you are not too injured and that you are sure baby is ok. Suppose it could have been much worse if you had fallen and hurt the baby (or given yourself a big black eye for the wedding!!). Have a relaxing night and think of all the good things to come. And get your DF to fix the door!!! x0

Thank you. Yeah it was lucky I fell backwards onto my a s s and not forwards! Would have been annoying too if I'd broken something for the wedding. Arm in a pot for the photos and honeymoon and come back tanned but with 1 white arm lol!!
Anyway, off to go run my lush bath now but will be back after to check out EA's full scan news!!0 -
SJ - I have fallen twice whilst pregnant and the car door banged my bump at 28 weeks. Today, I was laughing at OH running away from a wasp and wasn't watching what I was doing, thought I put my foot on the step to the front door and hadn't! Ended up falling against OH's car.
Your centre of gravity does alter when you are pg so you are more prone to falls - hope you aren't too sore!
OH always moans I'm a klutz
EA - YAY :T:T Was getting a bit worried then! Looking forward to pics!!A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea
Where does the time go? :think:0 -
Right, caught up
Sorry i didn't get a chance to come on. Here's why.
Got to scan, laid down and she found the baby right away. Got some pics and pointed out some stuff but couldn't do the nucheal scan cause baby was facing the scanner! Stood up kind of haha.
So she sent me for a walk for 10 mins. Walk around the very lovely area! And came back, walked around the waiting room and went back in.
Baby had turned slightly but was sitting up with its legs up :rotfl: She needed it to be laying down.
So she made me a cup of tea and i paced the waiting room for ages.
Go back in. Baby is on stood back up almost but bent over! haha.
She got a good position to take the pics for the measurment, but the baby almost jumped up and threw its arms up (like a mexican wave!) and kept doing it everytime she went to get a pic.
So she turned me on my side, didn't work. Turned me on my other side and got me to cough. Nothing.
So she told me to lay back and wiggled my tummy with the scanner and the amnotic sac wiggled like jelly lol.
Finally got an ok pic for the measurement.
Most stupid thing i said "Its got a nose!" :rotfl:
So, Kindof me and you are 2 days apart again
And pics from my facebook... http://www.facebook.com/Kylie.Marie89?cropsuccess=#/album.php?aid=306084&id=692860647&ref=mf0 -
Lol
The annoying thing is never knowing whats going to happen in the future, there might be a horrible serial killer called Dante or maybe a prime minister called Demitri lol.
So far Dante has Dante`s peak (volcano movie) and the divine comedy. Demitri is apparently in twilight as a small character. And Anya and Darla are from Buffy the Vampire Slayer as a demon and an evil vampire.
Not to bad.

Also, by the time we got out and i had a KFC, which was a crap experiance. They ran out of gravy, but instead of telling us just didn;t give it to me.
So OH went and complained and guy gave him beans instead! So i went back up and said "these are beans not gravy.." and the guy went "yeah we're out of gravy!" and proceeded to ignore me when i asked if they had colslaw
Rude twt. About 4 customer complained about him in one go lol.
But we went to OH's parents then to my dad and have only just got home

Oooh SJ, that is quite an unusual surname.
I suppose you can look across names as "common" or "popular" depending on your viewpoint.
Emma is actually on our shortlist. I like some unusual names, but I would rather my child had a "common" name than something too weird or unusual. But that's just my preference for my baby. There are loads of names I like, but I wouldn't pick them for my baby as they just wouldn't suit us but they are great for other people!
Right, I am off to do stuff and then watch a DVD with DH. We are running out of time where it's just the two of us! It's weird thinking there are so many things we can't do for the next 18 years or so (last minute decision to go to New York, go SCUBA diving etc). But the sacrafices will definitely be worth it I am sure (trying to convince myself!).
Beenie - hope you are ok and have calmed down. And hope your DS is ok too. x0 -
