Had a bit of a night of it last night. In fact I thought my time might have come, but apparently not!
Oh didn't get in until 8.30pm, not 7.30 like he had said, and by that point I wasn't feeling like eating anything, and certainly not the curry I had been looking forward to. He decided though to go to the chinese takeaway and get some chow mein for himself so I could just have a small amount of that rather than not eat anything at all. I was feeling quite uncomfortable already by this stage, with lots of quite painful BHs coming.
I went up to have a bath at around 9pm, and kept having the BHs while I was in, which is unusual for me. Was also starting to feel quite sick. Cervix seems to me to be a bit more dilated than it was. Went off to bed, and woke at around 11pm with acid bile in my mouth (yuck, yuck). Spent the rest of the night dozing on and off, having to get up regularly because I was feeling sick, but the BHs had slowed down and have now stopped. Still feel like my digestive system has ground to a halt though. The other thing which is a bit weird in hindsight was that I had spent several hours yesterday doing the hems of the curtains (3 sets) which I made for the bedroom a couple of weeks ago, when usually it takes me months to get round to doing this once they are up and hanging.
With the bump having dropped a week ago, the baby being so big already and nesting apparently kicking in big time, I wonder whether my body is instinctively trying to tell me that I may go even earlier this time round.First two were 38 weeks and 37 and a half weeks respectively (though first was an elective c section so doesn't count) and I was 35 weeks yesterday. On the other hand I keep remembering all the other experienced mums on here over the last few months, who had weeks and weeks of false alarms and went over in the end, so maybe not! At least with the c section date being set on Tuesday next week I know that a definite end date is in sight, and it would be much less stressful to go in for a planned c section than have to rush in early for an emergency one, though I am fed up now with feeling so tired and uncomfortable all the time.

Congrats on reaching 25wks beenie it seemed to fly from there for me :-)
EA all the best for your scan :-)
Ive got three nursing bras two white ones from tesco £8 for both and a black Lacy job from Peakcocks £5. If you go with the Tesco though make sure you try them on as they can be a bit hit and miss size wise ive found they come up rather large :-) x:jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0 -
jillie1974 wrote: »i thought bout bravissimo but i cant be done with the trek to manchester. there is a good bra shop in bury that seems to stock all the good brands like freya etc so i thought of there.
its the amount i might need. i've no idea how many to buy??
i though white and black too
With my first, I started with 3 just to get me through the immediate post birth period, then once I knew breastfeeding was working for me, and what size I had stabilised out at, I bought a few more. You will need roughly the same number of nursing bras as you need bras normally IYSWIM as once the feeding is established, you shouldn't leak very much, so shouldn't need to wash any more frequently than normal bras.
If you buy too many too soon though, you may well find they aren't a particularly good fit once your supply settles down. I know that once my feeding was established, the first three bras I had bought (which I actually got in the hospital shop, measured up at 3 days post birth when milk had come in) were the least comfortable and least well fitting ones I had, and only ever got worn if all the other ones were in the wash!0 -
Nicki ive had that happen twice now been getting painfull braxtons hicks for hrs then it all stops also felt baby drop a couple of times and my digestion is going haywire at the moment but on the bright side i have never been so regular as i am now. I was so adamant that i was going to go early again this time now i think bubs is going to stay full term and just keep me on my toes for the next couple of weeks. Only thing im worried about now is if i sit back thinking its another false alarm and dont phone OH to come home that i will leave it to late and he will miss the whole thing. Grrrrr these babies dont like making life easy do they :-) x:jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0

32b - cant you use the fact that you have found the hb as a help as to your edd? you must be about 12 weeks along at least? are you picking it up very low down or further up?
there is an old wives tal that if hb is under 140 its a boy and over 140 its a girl - but i dont know if thats rubbish or not.0 -
thanks nikki
that's what i dont want loads of bras that are too big lol!!
think i'll get 2 bras to start with and see how things go
just a nightmare that there is nowhere in my own town i can pop to buy them.'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0 -
Nicki- I've had 2 false alarms so far! At 33 weeks had 3 hrs of braxton hicks that were coming about every 4 mins then stopped completely! And then again at 35 wks it started up the same but this time they were round my back aswell which is how my labour started with DD, I had a bath and took paracetamol but it didn't settle it. I decided to wait an hr then phone the hospital but then it just stopped again abruptly???
When I went to bed last night I had a niggly pain like a toothache(!) in my lower bump, it was still there this morning with cramps in the top of my legs the same as I get when I'm about to come on, but its gone now. Add to that the increase in discharge and b00bs leaking everywhere in the last week I'm hoping thats him startig to make a move out! But, knowing my luck he'll still be in come October LOL0 -
Just realised have cross posted with XL with pretty much the same story lol0
