We're off to Bath for our wedding anniversary in May and I wanted some recommendations on what to do really. Knowing me, I'd just end up shopping, so the best MoneySaving thing for me to do would be to plan something to do in advance.
I've had the Moon & Sixpence recommended as somewhere to go for dinner, any opinions on here or any ideas on what we can do in general please?

When in May will you be there? Bath International Music Festival starts on May 19. There's the American Museum, open top bus tours, the Roman Baths of course and The Abbey! Ghost Walks of Bath start from the Theatre Royal. Costume Museum at The Assembly Rooms - The Asian Museum opposite in Bennett Street. Boat trips. Get the train to Bradford on Avon (15 min trip). Loads of restaurants! I quite like the Firehouse Rotisserie. Don't forget to visit Walcot Street for shops too.0

The Roman Baths are well worth a visit. I went there last year and it was fascinating.0

Bath is very, very pretty and compact, The Hole in the Wall on George Street used to have fantastic food, if you want something very special The Priory Hotel on Weston Road, has fabulous food and beautiful gardens its really quite special. Shopping is obviously good, Walcot Street used to be more Bohemian but well worth strolling along pop into the Bell Pub lovely on a sunny aftrenoon and maybe walk along the canal on Sunday to the George Pub at Bathampton lovely old Inn, good food.
If the weather is good go to Bath Boating Station and go along the canal.
Have a lovely time0 -
I was in Bath a week or so ago and we went to Cafe du Globe, 1a North Parade (up the street from Sally Lunn's). It didn't look much but the cocktail menu got us through the door and then we enjoyed the food so much we went back the next night for more! The goats cheese starter was great and also the Moroccan mint tea, very refreshing and good for the digestion too. Good selection of vegetarian items too. It was quiet during the week but Friday and Saturday night they were turning people away! Will definately go back next time I visit Bath.Marsh Samphire0

If you want something very, very special go to afternoon tea at the Royal Crescent hotel:

We thought we'd walked onto a film set when we arrived!
Lunches are good too.
We've also had an evening meal there which was gorgeous in the extreme.de do-do-do, de dar-dar-dar

Check out the offers on the city sightseeing buses, they do deals for 2 days on both city and skyline routes that includes entry to the American museum, Prior Park and Holborne Art musuem, all worth seeing. The American museum is 1/4 mile walk from the bus stop down a little lane but is worth the effort, their cookies are yummy! Also the bus ticket can get you discounts on entry to other places too but you need to ask for it, we could have had 10% off entry to Jane Austen place but didn't realise until afterwards. Roman Baths have a joint entry ticket with Costume Museum for £13 (Baths are £10 on their own) but you can also get a discount of this with the bus ticket so we got into both for £11.70. The costume museum had a special exhibition of Rudolf Nureyev's costumes which were beautiful too.Marsh Samphire0
