Hi, i'm selling some old t-shirts on ebay and just had a query from a guy in malaysia asking how much it would be for postage to his country.
I have no idea how much it will be, i checked the royal mail site and it gives some ideas but what type of package would i be sending? And what type of postage would i need to do?
I'm wondering about additional customs charges for the buyer and other things since i've never psoted anything outside of the UK. Any advice?

Somewhere on the royal mail web site is a price checker where you can select a country, and weight and it will give you an estimate.
A post around 40% of my items oversea and i always use the Royal mail price checker. I use plastic mail bags to post but you could use a jiffy bag from the post office.
Its best to send by Airmail as surface mail can be really slow. I rarely get things go missing overseas.0 -
Ahh right, thanks for the reply, i used that price checker but was unsure whether my package would be classed as 'small packages' or not.Total payment recieved from GPT etc as June: £0.000

Your items should be sent using the "small packet" rate. Customs charges are the buyers responsibility and vary enormously between countries. The buyer would know if there were any to pay based on the combined auction price and postage price. You'll need to complete a customs declaration which the post office will provide or you can download them online.0
