Freezing cream of puffball soup

I've been looking out for them for a couple of years but not found any yet. Its about the only mushroom I can be sure of picking and it being edible.“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0

Wow that looks amazing !!
Did you get any pics of the puffball before you chopped and cooked it. I would love to see the full sized thing.
I am going to be on the look out now !!

You can see them from a mile away.
But it's best to take them before they get quite so big, as at that size they are a bit watery.0 -

Well done you

I've still got about 2kg of giant puffball left over, am going to make it into soup. Will a soup with milk in it freeze ok, or should I stick to water-based soup?
Puffballs are delicious! I found one again this year growing in the same place as previous years. It weighed over three kilos and I gave it to a restaurant as they have to be eaten up while they are still white and fresh. I like them raw too but they cook well. I am watching another but it is still small.0
