Sims2/3. Laptop and hard drive.HELP!

Hi. I hope someone knowledgeable can help me with this one. I want to buy my daughter a laptop for her birthday next week. One of her main requirements is to play the Sims games and moderate internet use inc music download. Not to mention word processing applications. I cannot find a laptop in my price range (up to £250ish) that is adequate for playing this game.

Someone suggested I could use a hard drive with a laptop to back up the memory. What do people on here think of that? Surely I would still need a good graphics card even if this proved a solution to the memory problem.

Your help with this is appreciated. I have been going round in circles for days!

    Sims 3 needs a reasonable spec pc/laptop

Afraid unless you find a real bargain you unlikely to get a reasonable laptop that will run it, even a £300 - £350 may struggle as its mainly the graphics department that lets it down and need a dedicated graphics card

You cant back up memory to a hard drive only data I think thats whats you mean, this has nothing to do with getting the game to work
