A letter was in the letterbox and it was hand delivered and was addressed to my dad, I opened it in a panic and discovered it was over an unpaid gas bill or several put together and they had come today to discuss the account and payment arrangement and now cos we hadn't answered the door they would be going to court to get a warrant of entry to fit a pre-payment meter. I showed my mother and got her to phone the bloke who had come straight away and he came back and we agreed to the meter being fitted and he took details and confirmed a date etc. This is what we want as we don't have the full amount (around £320). I can't believe my mom even let it get that far and all she had to do was call them up and sort this out. Once they fit the meter is that the matter over with? I know what you put in a certain amount is taken off to pay the debt.

You will have been charges about £25-30 for that visit but as long as you are there when the appointment is arranged and no warrant is needed then there should be no additional costs. The debt will be calculated and to pre repaid over 52 weeks so there will be a debt of £350 loaded on the meter so it will take £6-7 every week from her.0
