Hi sorry yet another laptop question. I have read, and re read posts etc and still don't quite understand all the bits involved in buying a laptop.
DS1 wants money for his 14th birthday to put towards a laptop.
He wants :-
17'' screen ..more square than long
Number pad on RH side
option to watch dvds, youtube and play online games, download music ( and maybe some home work)
I am favouring the Toshiba range at the moment and was wondering if they had a good reputation.
Have seen these and was wondering if there was much between them.
ARGOS, John Lewis ( with 2 years warrentee), Tesco
TIA
Very confused, extremely stressed
Dx

Toshibas have always been generally good laptops. Warranty-wise there have been no problems returning items to them irrelevant of ownership (unlike Dell).
HP certainly have similar models but i don't think you'll find square-ish 17" models. They'd certainly be widescreen.
Trawl through PC Pro's laptop reviews for some independent advice.0 -
If DS1 wants to watch movies, then IMO a widescreen laptop would be more preferable, as then the movie will fill the screen....0
