thinking of buying a car on a credit card, have a good rating, have owned a RBOS cc up until about a year ago, then a barclay card, then a BOS one and now have a mbna with a £3500 only had it for about two months.
I need to apply for a new card was going to get a car under £6000. I can't apply for a BOS one or a barclay card as i've just left them so looking for advice on a good CC offer on at the moment preferably with as long a term interest free as possible. thanks

Hello!
Getting a car on a credit card is a good idea, as long as you keep up the monthly payments.
ok, my advice is to go for an Egg or Mint card (Don't apply for both at the sametime, go for Egg first)
The reason why I say Egg or Mint is because these cares allow you Balance Transfer the amount of your credit limit into your current account. Once the money is in your account u are home FREE. You are welcome to go and do what you want with it.
But don't forget, you still have to make the minimum monthly payments (which is 2% with Egg).
I believe Egg currently offer an Interest free period of about 9 months. So obviously before that time comes, make sure you apply for a new card so you can balance transfer the amount to a new 0% Card etc....
Best of luck!0 -
Make sure you find out whether the dealer concerned will accept a credit card.
Whenever I've tried it before, they won't accept payment that way because of the costs.
When paying for holidays these days and other items there is usually a surcharge for using credit cards.0 -

Ive bought cars previously using my egg card, due to the high limit, the cashback (when it was worth it!!!) and the ability to transfer money into the account via switch/delta.
However its imperative that you stick to the repayments, and you can move the debt round the 0% cards if you need to.....
As they have said before, the may refuse to accept the CC, as they get charged 2-3% of the transaction.
However, in my experience (after the deal is struck) they will capitulate to get the sale.
Most large main dealers will accept the cards (ive bought 2 Fords from local franchise), but most back street/smaller used car sales will not, so use the SBT method.
Cheers,
Simon ;D ;D ;DIs the glass half full, or half empty??0
