Daily Express say house prices to double over next 10 years !

10 years is a long time. It's entirely possible for prices to increase 100% in that time, probably even more, thats enough time for a crash and a recovery. Inflation alone would mean they would rise 40%.
I have to agree with everyone else though that its a crap newspaper

I can remember reading a report back in '95 by a merchant bank that stated UK house prices would double by the year 2000 and they did, certainly in the SE of England. I personally don't think house prices will increase by the amounts that the Express are saying, I don't belieive its sustainable.
p.s. I am not comparing merchant banks with the Express.0 -
If the crash 50%, they can then increase by 100% and be back where they are now...0

I remember in the early 90's just after the crash that they rported that house prices would average 100k by the year 2000, everyone said no way people wont be able to afford houses !!
I dont think they will crash this time, if they do there are plenty of buy to letters that will buy up a few more and get you renters to pay our mortgages for us !! :T0
