Hopefully! Still trying to get Kuhlmann to pay for flights and hotel

All depends on if the OH and I can get the time off together.
How's Baby CK doing? If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

Just a quick question - but I've read on here a few times companies being called "sheds"... This is a new one on me... I reckon I've understood what it means - but where did the word come from??I love surprises!0

Find a good local builder who will probably use somebody like howdens – that’s what I did and I saved a fortune compared to quotes from kitchen retailers etc…
Also don’t rely too much on the software for design. It can give a misleading impression of the end result. I worked with some paper and a ruler and went through the design whilst in the kitchen so that you can take into account the reality of available space and light. I also left it work a week and came back to it with a fresh eye which really helped.0 -

Hi
I think if the OP got a builder in to design a kitchen for them it would be worse than a designer from one of the sheds (also known as DIY stores). In my experience builders build and kitchen designers design. You are right though in saying that builders mainly use Howdens (or Magnet trade) and frankly these products are rather limited in range and quality and are predominently used by the house builder that just needs to provide a kitchen but actually doesn't know that much about them.
As the OP said, they want someone with a bit more of an idea about what to do with the space than the non professional kitchen designer.0 -
