You need to be approved for the card to get the points, not just apply for it though.
  • I'm actually a bit puzzled. I did apply and was approved and got my card and 2000 Nectar points when I activated the card. I was told I would get 1000 points after first purchase. But that is only 3000. I've looked at web site and see no mention of 7000. Is something wrong?
  • *If approved for the Nectar Credit Card from American Express and you make your application through Nectar eStores by 30th April you will receive 6,000 points (you will receive 2,000 Nectar points when the card is approved and an additional 4,000 Nectar Bonus points which will be awarded separately by the end of May 2006). When the Card is used for the first time you will receive an additional 1,000 Nectar Bonus points. American Express may vary the APR, interest rates and other charges from time to time. Anyone know if any similar offers are available for signing up for this card at the moment?
  • Ah so the great mystery is uncovered... I suddenly got 6000 free nectar points whacked on my account for no reason in particular a month or so ago!

    That's £30 to spend in Sainsburys. :D

I just thought it was a bit of an error!

Shame that offers not running anymore :( - VERY unusual for a credit card company to give money away like that!!

Same here. My OH applied for the card a few months back when you were supposed to get (I think) 6000 points - she somehow ended up with 9200 so between us we have made £81 out of them!
