i pay these guys £45 a month on a gas card [not a pre-payment meter] and have been happy for the past 9 or so months since we got it switched from the pre-payment meter which was here when we moved in a year ago.

a couple of days ago i get a letter telling me i have to up my payment to £87 a month!!!!!!!!!!!!

included in this is a gas bill that shows i am actually in credit with the !!!!wits :rotfl:

cue one irate phone call.

why? what was the point of it all? 'they dont want me to be in debt come christmas', i told them with their demands for £45 a month which i am happy to pay i doubt i will be. and when the amount of credit accumalates ill be badgering them for money. see how they like it.

what a waste of paper and money.
There's someone in my head, but it's not me

More like they want your money up front so they can make more interest on it. As if these companies really have their customers best wishes at heart!! What phhoooey.

Bet they were glad to get you off the phone!:D Well done.

  • Or just tell them it won't be necessary, as you will be switching to a more helpful supplier.

They're all at it I assume, Npower did the same to me. £400. plus in credit, energy costs coming back down and they wanted to up my prepayment by 1/3rd. In that case I said, refund the overpayment and reduce my monthly payment by £10.00 Not happy but they did it so by being greedy they actually lost out.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.
