Is linux competing with windows?

Wolfman makes a good point. If you can't do something you generally look it up on the internet. Copy and pasting a command it a lot simpler than following instructions for windows.
I dont think I've ever signed a licence when installing linux, I thought GPL was protecting the code.
I'm sure if you got 2 people who'd never used a computers gave one a windows pc and one a linux pc they'd both have no problem using their systems. The only problem linux has is that it does things different from windows and windows is the monopoly, and generally people dont like change.
Android is based on linux, I dont see why Chrome would be any different, and marty's right, maybe we should wait till its out. They're talking about Android for ntebooks and Chrome for desktops where all you want to do is surf the web.0
