Brean/Burnham on Sea, things to do, places to eat?

Taking the family to Pontins Brean Sands next saturday for a week, so looking for suggestions of things to do and places to eat out of Pontins. We have four kids aged 14, 6, 3 and 2.
So far we're thinking about Wookey Hole, Cricket St Thomas Wildlife Park, Brean Leisure Park and Weston Supermare (possibly the Helicopter museum there)
Are they good choices? Has anyone been to Cricket St Thomas or the Helicopter museum and would you recommend it? Have i missed anything else good on there? Was thinking about Animal farm Park too, but it's £38 for all of us which seems quite steep for a farm. Anyone been and recommend it?
Thinking about a trip to Street Clark's Outlet place - is it worth it? What about Well's market - is there much to see/do there?
Also are there any places to eat in Burnham on Sea or Brean? I know there is no KFC or Burger King! Are there any supermarkets there that have a restaurant or other cheap places to eat?
Thanks! Any advice much appreciated.

Street is good for shopping and bargains but not much else to do there apart from shopping. Puxton Park or Noahs Ark would be good for the children.
You have the traditional fish and chip shops in Burnham.
Weston super mare is good for a day out a traditional seaside place especially if the weather is good plus you have the big wheel on the front with magnificent views.
Clevedon is particulary good for crab fishing if the tide is in.
Portishead Marina is also nice and they have an outdoor lido/pool open.2010 - Goals

Weston SM is great for all of the kids especially if it's good weather.
Why not trade in any Tesco vouchers you have & use them at Longleat? You can also trade in Tesco vouchers towards wristbands for the funfair at Burnham :j.
Clark's Village/Street is ok for shopping, there is a little horse-roundabout thing & a castle for the small ones to climb on with swings etc whilst the older ones do some shopping.
There's also Greenbank lido which is blissful (& busy) when the weather is good.
If do visit Street then the cheapest places to eat are either Wetherspoons in the town high street, Burger King in the village or McDonalds which is near Sainsbury's (you would have to drive here really).
Wells market is a really good farmers market, if you combined it with a walk around Wells and a trip to Street that would probably be a whole day including travelling to & fro.
If it's a nice day then I would go to Glastonbury and have a completely free day out! First visit the Rural Life Museum, walk up the Tor and a visit to the play park on Fisher's Hill if the children aren't worn out by the Tor!! A wander up the high street would be good, I'd bet there's no other high street like it in the UK! If you fancy spending some money then a wander around the Glastonbury Abbey is a must.
My kids love Wookey Hole & have been with their Nan several times, could be a good idea to head over to Cheddar afterwards & drive through the Gorge (or walk up Jacob's Ladder if you feel like stretching your legs!)
Noah's Ark Zoo Farm near Bristol is another favourite of ours. It's easily a whole day out and I'd probably travel to there instead of Berrow as there would be more to interest you older ones at Noah's Ark.
Have a lovely holiday.

hi, me my partner and 8 year old went to wookey hole we paid £40.00 to get in..the tour around the cave was over too quickly and the food was over priced...i would recommend going to brean leisure park which was packed with fun or weston super mare if it's a good day...we also went into burham on sea and shopped at morrison as all the other shops on site were over priced..(we stopped at pontins)...hope this helps. also there is a burger king, mcdonalds, subway and a pizza hut in weston super mare...and i would recommend the little donut and milkshake shop in the town...0

I would recommend Wells on their Market day and a trip around the cathedral. Very quaint little city. How about a trip out to Lyme Regis in Dorset - that will be just over an hour's drive from where you are. But excellent for a day out looking for fossils.0

We go to Animal Farm every year with our two boys who are 6 and 4 and they love it. You can use Tesco Deals for it.
In Burnham there is a typical seaside type cafe right on the sea front that we tend to use, it has a huge menu and the food comes out really quickly.

Out of Weston, Brean & Burnham we prefer Burnham because it's not too commercialised. We tend to go to Animal Farm first and then down to the beach, have a paddle, kick a football about, make castles, etc.
Also, agree about Longleat. The passports aren't cheap but you could spend at least 2 days there I'm sure. Maybe do the 2 Saturdays?
We live quite close so we usually spread it over about 4 afternoons a year.- Safari Park & Pets Corner (which includes a parrot show)
- Railway, Simulator, Old Joes Mine, Mirror Maze
- Safari Boat, Maze & Postman Pat village
- Adventure Castle (we take a picnic for this one)
They also have different events throughout the year (eg Tractor Ted for a weekend in June & Sportacus was there this month)
If you get a wet day, you aren't far from Bristol so maybe take a trip to the Banksy exhibition at Bristol Museum. I imagine the queues will still be quite long but I'm told it's really good (& free). It might be worth taking a trip to The Mall at Cribbs Causeway. There's a soft play area there that the young ones can go to while you go shopping.0 -
burnham-on-sea.com (Sorry not alowed to do links add https://www.)
This is full of info on the area. the helecoptor meus is good. we have done Chedder, if you do go any where visit the Tourist Info on the sea front at Burnham for discount tickets0 -
Things to do in burnham on crouch.
I imagine suicide would be quite high on most peoples lists:j

I recommend Cricket st thomas wildlife park, it isnt anything like Longleat of course, but you are left alone, spend as long watching each animal as you wat, there is a pub the black swan selling food and stuff, but my main reason for going are the Lemurs.
The Lemurs have a walk through enclosure, thye all gang around you, if you take loads of chopped up fruit, they will eat from your hand, sit on your shoulders, and try and rob the contents of you bags if you aint carefull.
Me and my girlfriend have been twice now, and spent 2 hours in there both times, taking photos and feeding them.
Of course you arent allowed to feed them, and would feel terrible if anything i fed them made them ill, but they seemed to love it all, the bananna especially.0 -
Thanks everyone for all your suggestions and advice - just off to research it all now and then decide what to do
