Hi

I've got 2 x Xda 2s'. They both have a camera and are the same apart from one has a camera build of 19307 and the other is 17***.

I'm trying to take a backup from the 17*** xda and install it on the 19*** xda but when I do the camera doesn't work. I know this is becuase I'm taking a 17*** build and placing it on the 19*** whcih is down grading it which it doesn't like. I've tried copying over the camera.exe from the 19*** before running the restore (so copying 19*** camera.exe and copying it back over the 17*** camera.exe) but still no luck. Any ideas.

Any just incase anyone is wondering, I've installed the software on the 17*** and now need it on the 19*** but don't have the cd's anymore. I'd appreciate any help/suggestions.

The system files are usually writen to the ROM to change them you need to hack the PDA to allow it to replce the newer version witht he older one.

The PDA doesnt require any cds to reload the original software, hold the power button at the top and do a system reset with the hold in the bottom it will wipe everything and reload it again. I know you can get hacked versions of the ROM and reflash them but I have never looked into doing it myself maybe try the PDA forum sites?

Sorry i meant software that i've installed extra.. the hard restore works fine its just after i've done the restore from the other xda.. pain the rear. As far as hacking goes, think i'll leave well alone, don't claim to know enough of it to start messing lol
