Best Part Ex Prices

Our Mitsubushi's (R reg) gear box is on its way out and is not worth replacing. Any suggestions for the best place to get a good part ex . I heard that many of the car supermarkets do not give part ex. We will prob spend £5k ish on a replacement.

Car supermarkets will normally take a part ex, but the offer will be rock bottom as they have such a small margin in their cars, however if you visit another garage they may offer you more in part ex as they have a bigger margin in the car they are selling. People get hung up on what they are getting in part ex, but the reality is that the key figure is the price to change. The only way to find out is to drive into a few garages and try to do a deal
