phone unlocking

Hi, i have a samsung tocco phone ex contract locked to t-mobile, can this phone be unlocked...... i think the contract was cancelled before the contract ran out on this phone, so it still possible to unlock this phone.......... If yes, my next question is.... how?????

Check first that it really is locked by trying a non-T Mobile sim in it. I've bought at least 2 phones that were supposedly locked to a network when in fact they weren't - the latest being a Samsung Tocco Lite.

Your local market trader will normally do it for a small fee... Often works out cheaper than buying the equipment to 'do it yourself'.

I am just wondering the phone network company could block the phone due to the contract being cancelled!!!Excuse my stupidity on this subject but i aint got a glue about anything like this....
