Virgin have banned me override facility = can they do that?

I've been doing a bit of voluntary work from home trying to get some current work experience which has meant making a lot of phone calls over the last three days.

I've been using an overrider (Planet) to make the calls but there number has been blocked. Can Virgin do this? What is my legal standing?

HELP!!! What are my options?

Yes is the answer, only BT are legally required to allow over rides, all others can refuse to allow it

Only BT have to allow access to Indirect Codes like 1899/18185.

What sort of access number were you calling 0800/0844 ?
and are you on Virgin Media Cable or Virgin Media National.

Try creating an account with one of the following and using their override (look for the non-BT users link).

Hmmm... I've been using the 1899 override on my NTL/Virgin line for some years; now this morning I find that it doesn't connect, nothing there at all.

Looks as though they've pulled the plug!

UPDATE! Just tried the 1899 number again and it's OK now - must have been a glitch.
