We are in the process of talking to both payplan and cccs with regards to an IVA, can anyone tell us if they have dealt with either of them for an IVA and what good and bad things you feel about their services as at some point we have to choose between them and we're not really sure which one at the moment.
Thanks

Thanks

There are others too!
Do speak to as many as you feel are necessary, go with whichever one you feel is offering you the best service at the time (and promptly). A general complaint on here about the CCCS is that they seem to be very busy and it may take a number of weeks!!! for them to deal with you.
Avoid any company that asks for money before they've provided a service, there are plenty of companies about who will offer you advice for free.
Dont stop until you have a solution in place!
Good luck!Would you ask the wolves to look after the sheep?

Thanks Charco, I suppose I just feel a bit bad speaking to them both at the same time but we need to get this sorted, as I'm sure you understand life is on hold. Payplan were promt to begin with and now they are slowing down a bit, where as cccs has been steady. We are having a phone interview with IP on monday (through cccs) having had intital call 2 weeks ago. We've several calls with payplan and now waiting to hear from IP.I hadn't realised they were not a charity.
Its also very hard now as we are starting to get calls everyday from most creditors either because we cancelled direct debit or because we missed the last payment, and we are both being a bit cowardly not wanting to speak to them!0 -

Payplan were promt to begin with and now they are slowing down a bit it takes time just, there's quite a lot of work goes into it. whereas cccs has been steady They'll still have to go through the same processses as everyone else, and the same statutory waiting times too. I hadn't realised they were not a charity. CCCS ARE NOT REALLY A CHARITY EITHER. CCCS are a company that makes money just like any other, they pass their work to a sister company while front operation is supposed to be a "not for profit" organisation. Originally funded by the banks as far as i'm aware.

Try not to let this get you down too much. It'll all be sorted out soon enough, you've taken the first step and that's the important oneWould you ask the wolves to look after the sheep?

Hi there!
ummm kinda not sure whether to post this or not but here goes, please dont take this as negativity, just somethin to be aware of and which may help you decide who to go with...
I dealth with Payplan, found them wonderful especially the girl who dealt with the gathering of all the information.
BUT they accepted a figure in my income which was not a confirmed guaranteed payment (maintenance from my ex). Soooo, got to the creditors meeting stage - I phoned up in a tizz beforehand to let them know my maintenance agreement had gone to pot, would need to go thru CSA and could take ages, and the woman I spoke to (not to nice as the other one - miowww!) said oh just let it go ahead and try to sort it out as soon as you can!
End result - I have not been able to sort it out and I have had to default on IVA already (FIRST PAYMENT!!) and am just waiting to go bankrupt!!
So, my bit of advise would be, dont go with anyone that will take an income figure that isnt guaranteed!!! And dont be afraid to turn down a proposal either, I had mine amended twice before I was happy i would be able to pay it. Also with hindsight the 'contingency' figure I was allowed was diddly squat, if something did break down or need repairing, well i would have been stuffed then too and defaulted anyway probabaly!
so yeah, dont go with a company that accept non confirmed figures, and make sure they are leaving u enough to live on if something does go wrong!Learn from yesterday, live for today, plan for tomorrow0 -
Thanks again for replies.
We spoke to cccs today and I feel a whole lot better since speaking to them and they gave us so much more information that payplan, the very nice lady explained loads and didn't just tell me an IVA is the option for us.
So plan to tell payplan we are not going to use them now.
I think I going to keep a diary on DFW just to give me something to refer back too.0
