asda card/ge money now santander - cannot refer to FOS?

Hi,
I have lots of reclaims going on at the moment, some successful, some (Halifax/Mbna) haven't even responded at all.

Anyway, I digress, I had an Asda and Dorothy Perkins card which were GE Money, and are now under the umbrella of Santander cards apparantly. I sent a fairly small reclaim to both and have had letters back offering small goodwill gestures of £12 and £20. Both letters stated that as my account is now with CL Finance (I am on a DMP) that they have ALREADY arranged to pay these amounts as full and final settlement of my claim. I haven't agreed this so wrote a letter saying thankyou for the goodwill gesture of £12/£20 which I will accept as PART-PAYMENT, but that I will continue to claim the remainder through the courts.

Received a very short letter this morning saying " We have already issued our final response and our position remains unchanged. We provided details of how to refer to the Finance and Leasing Association in our previous letter. As we are now in a state of deadlock, we will not enter into any further correspondence in this matter"

Any ideas what I do now? In their previous letter they stated that as the last charge was added on 12 august 2006 the FOS has no jurisdiction on the matter....is this true?? or just a fob off?? Why are they directing me to the FLA? Am I unable to refer this complaint to the FOS or should I do this anyway? Are store cards any different from credit cards? they keep quoting that they have not been involved in the OFT investigations into default charges but have voluntarily brought their charges into line with the £12 recommendation.

It's only small amounts (under £100), so I don't know whether to keep on with it? Any advice?
