Hi all
One of the rings (the 'fast..solarspeed' one) doesn't work anymore..the knob clicks and the indicator lights comes on, but the ring itself remains cold.
I would like to try and fix it, and need to get under the hob to have a look..i'm wondering if there is a separate part that i can get and then repair it myself.
however, the hob (creda..old) is well stuck into it's recess. How do i approach this daunting task??!!
any tips gratefully received.
many thanks all

Lift out hob unit and then inspect.

How easy is it to jsut lift the hob out...do they break easily??
are they usually bolted down onto something??
Would i need to remove the oven housing first (I do hope not!!)
thanks all0 -
how old is it? its not always a good idea to fiddle with things. could you not afford a new one?Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession

It's old! probably about 15 yrs or so.
I can't afford a new one at all..i need to find a way to fix this one!!
Any tips would be great.0 -
I've got the same problem on a Creda halogen cooker. I've only been able to locate one spare halogen element, costing over £70, and I can't be 100% sure that it would be a direct replacement. Also, its a swine to dismantle, apparently. If you do find a cheaper alternative, please post it, I'd be interested.0

thanks, TotalSolutions.
Has anyone actually taken one of these ceramic hobs out without too much hassle??..or is it a really difficult job?0 -
It went in and will come out, you won't know till you have tried, get on with it.0

get on with it.
:rotfl:
Yes its easy , If installing hob , cut out hole and drop in , small 'springs ' hold it in place.
Extraction should only be a firm shove from below.0
