    Hi
I used to work in the membership office for a large gym which has quite alot of branches throughout the North West! We had loads of people sign 12 month contracts who would cancel their direct debit before the 12 months is up! Now i'm not recommending this as obviously all gyms are different and will deal with things differently, but this gym never chased anybody for the money.

They would send a couple of letters and then that would be it! I don't think they wanted the bother of having to chase people especially as it wasn't for a large amount of money! We even had people who had cancelled their membership come back and restart it a few years later and nothing was said to them!
