YouTube Downloader Problems, Files Disappearing, "No Flash Vid" When I Try To Convert

I've been trying to convert stuff via Youtube Downloader..all of a sudden it keeps saying "No Flash Video Found" (?); it's the latest version.

And I've noticed that some mp3s I'd put on my PC via YTD are mysteriously disappearing?

I don't think YTD is virusy as I've used it for years..do you think something bad is happening on my PC? If someone could kindly look over my Hijack This! log I'd be grateful, and offer me any thoughts.

It's the files disappearing that's worrying me! Though I think YouTube sometimes tweak their site to block YouTube Downloader. I may be talking baloney though

they do - and its possible thats what youtube/google have done now.

Thank you. Still confused about the disappearing mp3s..

Is there anything similar I can use in the meantime? (I saw a link for something similar but it was a toolbar, and I'm allergic to those things).

Edit: It's ok, I found a substitute it's quicker and lets me convert multiple files. Woo-hoo! Blessing in disguise I think.

YouTube has disabled the downloader you're using. Basically YouTube is desperate to start monetizing its huge library of video content and wants to charge users 99 cents per download. It also wants to discourage people from using the free download tools available. You can read about it on my blog; Search Google for "Kent Journalism Kersh Media".
There are a number of download tools which still work however and there's also a new version of the one you were using which will work. Good luck.

You don't need to download the flash video and then convert it; you can directly download an mp4 file using this method.

No additional software is necessary.
