Student Loans Company the same as SAAS???

I apologise in advance if this is a really dumb question but...

are the student loans company and saas the same thing?

I received a loan from the student loans company in 2003 for one year. I'm now trying to apply through saas for funding this year and im required to put in my previous customer reference number but when i do it tells me it is not a valid number??

I've been on hold to them for almost 30 minutes, can anyone help???

SAAS will pay your tuition fees but the student loan will come from the SLC. However, you have to apply for the loan through SAAS. So they are different companies, but have a connection for Scottish students.

SAAS pay your tuition fees and give you your bursary.
The student loan company pays your loan.

SAAS and the student loan company are two different companies, so you will have your own reference number for each one.
So SAAS will not have any record of you, you will have to apply from scratch for them.

You apply through SAAS online, and they will give you the option to to apply for the loan as well, they will then contact the Student Loan Company on your behalf and sort out your loan, bursary and tuition fees.
