Special Delivery Nightmare-Please HELP!

Hi everyone
At my wits end now, I've been trying to get through to a real life person at royal mail customer services and it's just not happening. I have a special delivery item which has gone missing, posted on Monday and is allegedly at the Oldham Sorting Office. The lady I have posted to says it is not there and she has never received a card! Tried my local branch, they passed me on to the customer service number but it seems to be 100% automated and I'm going mad trying to sort this out. Does anyone have any idea how you get through to a person on this number? Or if anyone has a number for the Oldham Sorting Office (google not helpful) or any idea what I should do please help!
Thanks
Scar tissue that I wish you saw, sarcastic mister know it all, close your eyes and I'll kiss you cause with the birds I'll share this lonely view.

  • Does it give you any other info on the royal mail website as there is a track and trace page there (not sure if they give out the phone numbers though)?
  • No other info Ivory, they don't even put branch numbers on the site. Seriously one of the most unhelpful companies!!

Sorting offices never answer their phone for some bizarre reason. If you ring Royal Mail customer services they will just e-mail the sorting office duty manager. I would ask the person you sent it to go down to Oldham sorting office and ask them to see if its there. They may need some encouragement where there is no card. Postman often seem to not bother leaving a card. Maybe its the effort of writing them out. If not your just going to have to wait 7 days for it to be returned to you.

I know it's not the same as phoning and speaking to a real person, however, I have had luck in the past with emailing via pod.team@royalmail.com

Ask them to follow up for you to track where your item is and pop your phone number in for them to call you.

    Good luck
  • Thanks very much everybody!
