have you thought about wooden roses they are mega cheap and you could make lovely arrangements with them and if youve got £6 per table you would be able to have quite a lot on each , you could either put them in oasis or a vase with some greenery

BRILLIANT IDEA! I actually have some of these at home and didn't even think about having them as a table decs. I can't believe how reasonable they are as well. Going to run this idea past OH and see what he says. Unlike balloons that will either pop or deflate, we can keep these as years to come and even give them away to guests to take home. Love it! Thanks!!!! xBride to Be - 28th August 2010 :dance:0 -
I had lovely glass bowls on a stand from ikea filled with water, floating candles and silk petals scattered round. They looked really lovely and effective but I did get married on New Years Eve so it was dark.
Hope you find what you want.0 -
I'm having curly bamboo in vases - vases from ebay (but also under 2 pounds in IKEA)...3 stems of curly bamboo 90p each...sitting on an IKEA mirror tile.
Vases and mirror tiles from ebay...will then be sold on afterwards

If you are allowed candles this looks very effective and you can get different colours, it called either sequin waste or Punchinella. I have bought it from my local market and online. I have seen an American site (not brave enough to order from them though !!) where instead of round holes they have hearts or stars punched out. I have used it at a couple of different functions, simply wrap it round a small tumber and put a tealight inside. Where you join it together either just use sellotape, you can decorate it with silk flowers or tie a ribbon round it.

Following on from Kte's idea - for your £6 per table budget you should be able to get some vases - but get creative with what goes in them - and depending on your colour scheme, time of year and if you have access to 'free stuff' in the countryside/garden/friends gardens... (if you have the time and patience to do this yourself!)
e.g. winter wedding - holly with red berries
autum - pretty grasses/willow sticks and corn/wheat left at edges of fields
spring - cherry blossom
summer - all sorts of flowering bushes - always thought elderflowers could look pretty
All times of the year - collect up long twigs and spray them a nice silver, gold or other metallic colour - and either use on their own - or add to any other ideas to glam them up a bit. (these cost loads in shops but you can do yourself for the price of a paintspray can!)
You should also have enough in your budget to maybe get some ribbon/glitter to finish of the look...0 -
Glass bowls , with Fresh flowers inside look so great , expecially orchids . A Bit pricey though

Not necessarily. If you do this yourself it can be really cheap. Glass bowls/vases - look out at Ikea/Range/Dunelm/Wilkinson/B&M Bargains (I used to work in a florist where the owner bought the majority of his glassware from these shops and then marked them up price). Buy some Cymbidium orchid stems (between £3 - £6 each) making sure they have a lot of heads on each stem. Then simply put some water in the bottom of the vases, with some stones etc. if you like and then float a few of the orchid heads in the water. If you want to jazz it up a bit more - buy some bear grass (very cheap) and wrap that around the inside of the bowl. Very cheap and very effective and always looks professional - just remember - less is more.0 -
Sorry - for less than £6 per table - you could go down the thin-stemmed vase (like these ones: http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/40113180 or http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/50150563) with a 3 gerberas (around 70-80p each), cut to different lengths, in your colour scheme and a few bits of beargrass - very effective and simple and cheap! This is a bit fancy, but you get teh idea: http://www.orchidstrated-blooms.co.uk/images/corporate/gerbera-vase.jpg
Example of orchid bowl: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_hLtFRdudb9U/SdU3VK6kHfI/AAAAAAAAAGw/Y5UvEut4juw/s1600-h/DSCN0643-1.JPG You coul also float gerbera and lilly heads in these too
I'm having these filled with seasonal flowers for my table decorations: http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/40151092
But I love this look too:
