Credit after full and final IVA

Has anyone managed to get credit after completing full and final IVA or do you have to wait the full 6 years? My son is getting married and i would really like to help them out financially and was hoping that i may qualify for a loan with someone. IVA was completed in October 2007.

If your IVA was completed in Oct 2007, then any notes of it on your credit file should be passed by now, no? If your IVA ran for five years, October 2008 would be your six years - unless you had a one year IVA paid by lump sum. There are some posts on these threads that talk about credit ratings etc and how to check them and clean them up which may be worth a look for you.

Even if the IVA is not off your credit rating, if you have completed the IVA then you should be able to find credit - beware of subprime lending tho and watch the interest rates!

The IVA was a full and final one which commenced on October 2006 and was completed on 30th May 2007 (just checked my paper work!). I have checked my credit file and apart from one account all of them are now showing Satisfied or Settled. The one showing Defaulted in currently in dispute as this was included in the IVA but for some reason still showing as defaulted.
