I am having a hugely depressing day, and have to shop for essentials on the way home.
It's days like this when the budget seems less important than the mythical "buzz" you think you'll get by treating yourself to another bottle of whisky?
Is it just me that has these "moments"?

Hi. Everyone. Grr to the person who ran Sammy off the road. Yay to Spuds OH for fixing tumble drier and a big thanks to Dee for the tumble drier tip off. We could do with a tumble drier for when it's wet and we have been umming and ahhing about getting one - just need to find out where we'll be living before we can get one - but worth knowing so thanks Dee.
Not much going on here today - have applied for a job - got another to apply for - at least there's some to apply for at the mo.

Jacs - is it wired up properly? they haven't forgotten to attach the neutral wire or anything stupid have they - would check that none of the wires have burnt through on the plug as well when you check the fuse.
I am thinking you may have already done this so aplogies if you have already tried it.
It's not on some sort of offshoot of the main electrics is it and overloading it? sort of like what Spud said? Not sure how you would check this though - you obviously don't want to be touching the mains.
obviously not at all practical or electrically minded at all, me - so have no idea but if it gives you some ideas to check?
How about the wonderful google for suggestions?
    Hope you get it sorted.
