What yo ushould do is ask the buyer to bid the amount he wishes to play for the item and once you see that amount you can end the auction early. i think you can still do this. try it.0

id think about it you might get more if you let the auction run. Some people target new ebayers to try and get things cheaper than if they let the auction run.0

Yep tell them to make their bid but you feel it's wrong to end the item early when it has other watchers. It's only a matter of days after all - not decades!

I would just tell them that due to Ebay rules as the item has a bid your not allowed to end the auction early but they are quite welcome to bid their highest price and wish them good luck on their bidding. You may lose out you may get a bigger price.0

Cancel the bids, end the auction, and have your buyer pay you in a non reversable way (ie not paypal), or have them come and collect and pay cash."Love you Dave Brooker! x"

As they could report you if you offer to sell outside of Ebay. Also its a bit unfair on the bidder if the item is suddenly swept from under their feet without even a chance to bid their best price.0 -
If you are happy with the price they are quoting you could end the auction early after they bid and click the option to "sell to the highest bidder".Not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted. Einstein0

I must admit, I find it wrong to sell to someone before the end of the item, it just seems unfair.“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”

Thanks everyone for your help, I have ended the auction and the buyer is coming tonight with cash - I have received far more for the item that I was expecting or have seen previous similar items sell for so dont think I would have received more had I left it to run for a couple more days.0
