Choosing a redundancy pool

Hi, I'm hoping someone can help me with a bit of advice.
I work in a dept that is split into 2 sections - my side employs 6 people. Myself and 3 others have been told we have been nominated for redundancy and that 1 of us will definetly go. Nobody from the other side has been selected but I'm still to find out why. I have my meeting tomorrow but I am furious as to how they have only selected us 4 and not the dept as a whole.
My employer has selected 4 people who do the same job that have between 1-4yrs service. They have not chosen 2 people who have 20yrs service who also both do the same job as me and have said that these 2 were not chosen as 1 is a supervisor and the other does "special" accounts. The supervisor does exactly the same job as me and I cover all her work when she's off for 12 weeks of the year and the "special" accounts person also does the same as me and has same job title - none of them have more experience than me and everyone is able to cover each ones job.
1. Does anyone know if my employer is allowed to purely deselect people purely on their job title (i.e. supervisor)?
2. If someone was employed to do the same job as me and their job title/position is the same as mine on their contract should they also be in the redundancy pool?
I have my meeting tomorrow and have been told it's based on a scoring matrix however I'm going to refute their selection pool as it's blatantly obvious that 2 people have been avoided due to their 20yr service. I'm also going to say that everyone who's contracted job title is the same as mine and does the same job should be included in the pool as how otherwise can they justify that the selection is fair and above board?
I don't have a problem being nominated but I do have a problem with how the selection has been made and I'm not one to sit quietly and believe everything my employer says.
Sorry for long post but I appreciate any advice as it's all new to me.

Hi
It's difficult to tell without seeing the other job descriptions but from what you have said it looks as though the other people should be in the selection pool to me and probably all the people in the two sections (if they do a similar role).0
