No, never luck. There are three elements
1) Money management, as Deemy explains. If you blow your bank you're sunk.
2) "Value", i.e. if the ratio of return to risk is greater than the probability of an event happening would suggest you will win overall by taking that risk, though you may lose individual transactions.
3) An edge: how you know that you can derive an estimate for (2) better than everyone else. May be expertise, may be arbitrage, may be something else.
If you take care of all three elements you will make money.0 -

Stocks i dont know about but as for poker ( especially online poker ) then i would say that time management is the biggest factor for winning and then would come luck.Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0 -
lol funny thread.
They may have my interests at heart, but neither of them have the experiance my mentor has, or the money my mentor has (i can tell, from the way they talk).
Nope, noy following a heard, because 99% of people dont know if the stock is being accumulated or not, and dont even want to know, most people dont even watch a monthly chart, they like the daily, maybe a weekly, because they want money right now!
True, i may "just be 23" "hardly any experiance" and all the rest of it, but i will challenge anyone on this page to analyse 5 stocks with me, and in a couple of weeks, see who was right ;o)
You can tell whats going on just by looking at the chart.
My plan is not flawless, nothing is, and i have never said i will just make money, so go back, re-read my posts, and pay attention, ive said im bound to lose money at some point.
Oh and as for a herd, hardly anyone does it this way, so im not following anyone but the chart
Cheers

Oh and gambling in stocks only takes place when the person does not know what there doing.
Someone said to me a while back (lol), so how was the gamble, i replied, how can it be a gamble if the stock did just what i expected it to do, which is why i brought it in the 1st place.
If you look at a trade like a gamble, stay away from it until you have studied!0 -
Gameover, no-one, not even you, can predict the future from analysis and charts, because if it were possible we would all be rich. All you can do is calculate a probability of an event and see if it is worth the risk. Chrismaths explained this very well.
Do you honestly think that if your technique actually worked, fund managers would not be using it? The bulk of stocks are owned by funds not by individuals, and fund managers are very much concerned by detail.
You are in a ramping market without much negative sentiment. Under such circumstances virtually every stock you pick will work as you expect, because they are floating up with the market. When the market turns, as it will, you will be high and dry.0 -
Arrogance, naivety, poor spelling and grammar all rolled into one. Good luck Matt, you'll most definitely need it - not only with your gambling but also in getting the world to LISTEN to you and your undoubted brilliance.
Come on Matt, you're so brilliant, and with your mentor, how can you fail? Give up your job and invest full time! You'll make a FORTUNE! Ho Ho Ho...I'm an Investment Manager. Any comments I make on this board should be not be construed as advice, and are for general information purposes only.0 -
Sorry, i do not gamble, you might though?
Dont worry, i shall be fine, Chris
My mentor keeps all the stocks he has been in for the past 6 years, looking through all those, it really does work, not for people who dont understand why/how it works though, so who actually loses out, Chris?
lol - have a nice evening, i know i will.

How can it be a gamble if the roulette wheel did just what I expected it to do? Which is why I bet on red.
Same thing surely?0
