How do I find an architect - thanet

and what on earth am I looking for, what are the right qualifications, experience that he or she should have.

I did a search for architects in thanet, so a list comes up, but how do I know that any of them are any good? A company came up called architect your home, seems like a sort of job lot of architects that they just match up to your area, there are other companies that are clearly architect companies but again, how do you check them out??

Good evening: Have you tried RIBA or the ARB? As with any 'work' in/on the home try to get personal recommendations/ask for references and check certification/qualifications.
