  • Did you try it with a belt?

I did but because of the ruffles it looked a bit odd...I might give it one more try though because I do like it.

Funny isn't it, I'm sure it didn't look like that when I looked in the mirror this morning :rotfl:
*wonders when they will make dressing gowns acceptable day wear?*

I don't think it looks bad....I think its the most flattering outfit flattering but some outfits aren't...it doesn't make them ''bad'' necessarily, just maybe not date outfits! In fact some really flattering outfits make us look better but aren't as exciting/feminine whatever.

    Iwould try it again though.

    Evening folks,

Dull dull dull corporate stylee work outfit today of black trousers and a 'smart' blouse - aaaaaaaaargh. It says it all really that I feel so 'un me' when I have to do proper work clothes for seeing clients - I am soooooo in the wrong job! Most of the time I can get by, but with clients I feel I have to totally alter my look/personality, which can't be good for the soul!

Retro_Bluebell - your blog post today is so honest and inspiring, please don't delete it. The title is great, I've never heard that before but am going to write it down and use it, it's so positive, I have scars from bad times in the past too - but I have grown to love them, almost like they are tattoos (like folks were talking about the other night). I see them as marks of my survival, that make me unique and mark out the journey I have come on. I have grown to accept them and see them as a positive affirmation of how far I have come (if that makes any sense).

    xx

This is so me! I'm lucky that I don't have to 'do' suits in my job, smart casual works fine, and I have gradually interpreted that to mean skirts, tops and dresses and lots of cute cardis. I *hate* suits, I look awful in them too. :o

Love the rest of your post too Sharona, well said!

Oh and PF I dreamed about you last night, just saw you at the train station looking sad and gave you a hug - how bizzare!.

how random vicki! But thanks for the dream hug :p

am just back from bingo, catching up with you all..sitting in my newly tidied flat..

Yeah the vintage thing annoys me on eBay too! Just because it's from a high street store with the tags cut out doesn't mean it must be vintage :( tht said, some of the vintage shops in London don't seem to grasp that vintage and second hand are not the same thing..

Im really down tonight and have poured my heart out on my blog I dont expect anyone to read it and I will probably go back and delete it but its been good therapy for me.....

I use my blog for that too retro, it's good to let all your thoughts out so they can't upset you anymore going round and round in your head, that's how I feel anyway..
