Don't feel stupid. Most of us can sympathise to some degree. I didn't need refuge, but the police were involved for me it was three years, and no children...I think if I had children I wouldn't relax at all, ever, ok...maybe a little when they were older and settled themselves...you are doing fine.
I love tweed trousers and a black jumper...its such an effortlessly classy combination that can be made work for almost any thing that happens in the day. In its Hepburnesque defiance of stereotypical feminine it seems strong yet not harsh.0 -
Ahh retro I know how you feel hun... I've tried to be all things to all people before and some days it's hard to even put my face out of the front door, although my experience was significantly different from yours.
I've deleted loads of blog posts in the past, including one very long one on my personal blog which probably contained more revelations about my past than I would be comfortable with the general public knowing.

Evening folks,
Dull dull dull corporate stylee work outfit today of black trousers and a 'smart' blouse - aaaaaaaaargh. It says it all really that I feel so 'un me' when I have to do proper work clothes for seeing clients - I am soooooo in the wrong job! Most of the time I can get by, but with clients I feel I have to totally alter my look/personality, which can't be good for the soul!
Goan - LOVE the boots on today's blog post, absolutely gorgeous.
Retro_Bluebell - your blog post today is so honest and inspiring, please don't delete it. The title is great, I've never heard that before but am going to write it down and use it, it's so positive, I have scars from bad times in the past too - but I have grown to love them, almost like they are tattoos (like folks were talking about the other night). I see them as marks of my survival, that make me unique and mark out the journey I have come on. I have grown to accept them and see them as a positive affirmation of how far I have come (if that makes any sense).
DB - cakes looked fab.
PF - sounds like you've been assertive and made it clear what you will/won't tolerate. Good for you! Like Goan says, you are young and beautiful - the world is your oyster/whatever you want it to be!
