Daisy it's much better sooner, you're not sitting around getting more and more nervous about it then.0

Ahh Daisy I will be fine thanks hun have that time of the month feeling you know? Typical that Im going out tonight! Hope your appointment goes well xx**"Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin."**0

Daisy - you know what they say "better the devil you know". It's great news that the date has come through so quickly. Maybe things will finally start improving for you.
Mariel - I hate messing with mechanical stuff. I'm great at deconstructing things but never seem to put them back together in the right way. I was also planning a picture of my sewing corner in a blog post but I'll have to tidy it up first!!
Sewing wise I've got a stash of silk scarves dating from between 1930's and 1950's and featuring scenes of various places (Berlin, Greece, Ireland, Normandy) plus a couple of stylised retro prints. I'm attempting to refashion them into cushion covers and ironing vylene on to back to start - that's a task in itself.
A few bloggers are doing a challenge whereby they do 20 minutes of craft a day, so I've decided to join them!0 -
Hi everyone! Just finished lunch (a delicious salad) and trying to figure out what to do while DH hogs the TV to watch Rangers play.
Blue patent pumps (La Redoute)
Grey and black hooped tights
Pencil knee-length denim skirt (DP)
Dark blue vest top with tricolour straps, worn under T-shirt (La Redoute)
Black foil print t-shirt worn off the shoulder (gift but think it's from EA)
Glass fishhook pendant (New Zealand)
Silver and turquoise cabochon cuff
Silver hoop earrings with dagger pendant on left ear (had forever)
Red sparkly Alice band (DP I think)
Impulse bought a wide belt on eBay last night, but planning to recoup by putting lots up for sale tomorrow including coats and some of my many formal dresses - where I used to live had a little boutique and I was friendly with the owner, so got lots of stuff marked down, but I really don't need them now we've stopped going to the common riding balls in summer.
Has anyone heard of this website? I'm desperately coveting most of the dresses on here, but not very MSE especially on a clothes challenge. How much is too much to spend on a new everyday dress? (I only spent £120 on my wedding dress, so I might have skewed values here...)
ETA: Mariel, post a pic of your coat that needs altered? We might be able to give you some ideas!"All cruelty springs from weakness" - Lucius Annaeus SenecaPersonal pronouns are they/them/their, please.
I'm intolerant of wheat, citrus, grapes, grape products and dried vine fruits, tomato, and beetroot, and I am also somewhat caffeine sensitive.0 -
Thanks ladies, my Mum has just rung her boss and arranged to have the morning off work so she can be with me after the appointment which is making it seem somewhat more bearable.
We're off out for our wandering soon, hoping to get a good browse round the charity shops.0 -
Have a lovely time today DB, I'm glad you got your appointment through so soon, like the others said you can get it over and done with without it dragging on.
I found my counsellor really strange (for post natal illness trauma) she wanted me to write poems and sing songs (cringe!).
I've put a very bad photo of todays outfit on my blog!
Have a great day everyone...Off to make lunch...0 -

Magpye - what an amazing website and beautiful models, too. Those dresses look handmade from vintage patterns so, in my opinion, well worth the money and they'd look truly fabulous on you.
Great idea about Mariel's coat - let's have a look and come up with some wacky ideas to make it a joint MSE venture!
Daisy - have a great trip.
