I'm thinking about the blog...it's been playing on my mind. I'm just worried about fitting in it with two jobs and two children! I might get DS1 to help me with it as he is good with computers and internet forums are my limit!

Lazy day today so just pulled anything out the wardrobe and ended up with trusty black leggings and a grey jumper dress. I just went to the shop quickly and stuck on knee high biker boots and my fab purple coat from Matalan.

Good news - I sold some old jewellery for £72 so have a nice amount towards my Links bracelet. Also managed to convince hubby I need the M&S dress. Yay!

    Hello all,

Been out bargain hunting today! Dressed in:

Gap olive silk blouse (got in sale - £40 down to £10)
Topshop black sequinned cardi (from sale - £85 down to £45, still pricey but LOVE it!)
    Skinny jeans
    Knee high boots

Managed to get a black sleeveless silk top (£7 down from £35), a purple 3/4 sleeve open front cardi (£15 from £40) in Gap and a printed tunic/dress (£10 from £45) and grey footless tights (£3 from £8) in Wallis.

Really pleased - although it's not really saving money when you keep spending is it?! :o Even if they are great bargains! :j

 hurrah for both money and convincing hubby that the dress is indeed essential!

Sharona; it depends, sounds like you bought sensible and wearable pieces at great prices, from places where the clothes will last. I see that more as an investment myself! I used to impulse buy so much stuff, both sale and non sale,
now I try and only but what I can wear for more than one season, or if it's season specific, things that wont date, or I wont mind wearing for years. Its saved me a lot of money in the two years since I adopted that habit!

(of course, still guilty of the odd impulse buy, but only when I can afford it as I dont have a credit card or overdraft)

    Evening all :)

I must say, I do love the Monsoon sale. Have just picked up a gorgeous pair of dark grey herringbone trousers for £19.50 (originally £65) and some petite black cords for £13.50 (originally £45). Both really nice quality and there's no way I could have afforded to buy them at full price so I'm rather chuffed. I also bought myself a super cute green hat from Accessorize for a fiver - it fits my giant head!! I might post a pic of it at some point, it's not easy to describe but it's lovely :D

    Today's outfit was:

Black boots (haven't worn heels for flipping ages!)
    Black jeans
Ivory tshirt with sepia spooky photo print
    Black velvet fitted blazer
    Diamante deer brooch
    Pearl studs
Silver and black quarz cocktail ring
    Black clutch

I've just had to get changed as I dropped my spag bol down myself. A whole plateful!

I am rubbish at sale shopping. I don't have the patience to go through rails. I can't do TKmax at all!!

    Well done Sharona and alexnikov!
  • I have just put a bid on ebay on some gorgeous Mary Jane shoes, it will look fab with the M&S dress. I'll pay for them out of my Links Bracelet fund. I'm so fickle!

As am I! In my wine-induced haze (have been out for dinner with friends, struggling to type!!) I bought Erase Paste by Benefit from eBay after reading the dark circles thread and seeing so many recommendations. After years of YSL I hope this lives up to its reputation!!

Edited to say: the Wallis tunic/dress thing is a no-go. Their stuff is usually big-made but I'm a bit of a skinny minny and having tried it on at home can't get the size 8 over my hips/bum!

And...disaster with the Gap cardi. Tried it on at home, only to fall in love with it, then realise that it has a huge run/hole along the back - aaaaaaaargh!

Both will be going back tomorrow. Really hope they can do a stock search and trace another cardi in Gap but doubtful.

    xx
