Couldn't you just give him a key?

Lol! if he had a pocket to put a key in I would! :D

Fay, I don't know, but I consider myself to be very, very lucky that he turned up at my door. icon7.gif

The search goes on for a cat flap. The difficulty now is finding one which can be used by both large and small cats. I need something like one of those castle door things, you know, where the big door has another little door in the bottom of it
My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead :D

I have a 12" x 30" dog mate flap (much bigger than you need) used easily by a rottie, 2 JRT and a very small cat....I think if you got a tall thin flap so the smaller cats can just step through but still has enough height for the big cat? As for security, it's not ideal but I just make sure I never leave the back door keys accessible in the kitchen.

I know nothing about putting them in a glazed door, sorry but it was the main reason I didn't have a fully glazed door when I replaced the back door - the salesman thought I was mad.:D

Why don't stray NFCs come to my door :(

Mine came from a cat rescue 2 years ago, she had been there months but noone wanted her as she has an ongoing medical problem.
I didnt even want a cat!!!:rotfl: She is wonderful and I cant see us ever being without a NFC.

Had a look and mine is a staywell large cat flap. The rescue gave me it with the cat so not sure where its from sorry.

This is getting tricky, not least because I have to put the flap in what is now a double glazed window, there is nowhere else it can go.

So the square dog doors will mean a bit of lost light in the (north facing) window because they do not fit in glass.

I found some which would be perfect if I could find a UK supplier. Has anyone come across Transcat or Glaztec before?

They look ace. It's worth keeping in mind that they can be really tricky to fit (according to the window fabricators when I had my backdoor done.
This is because the glass has to be scored and the circle knocked out of each panel, which has a high failure rate - meaning they may have to use three of four bits of glass to every unit. (which pushes up the price).
If it was me I would talk to a trade window company (that actually make the windows) or a small independant glazier (ours is an excellent family buisness) and discuss the options with them as they will have experience of these kinds of jobs.
