Help please, corrupt file on usb stick

Hi there :hello:

My DH has come home a bit stressed_pale_ tonight as he cannot open his monthly report file on his usb stick. Its an excel file.

The other files both excel and word all open fine but this one keeps coming up with an error message saying it cannot be opened because file is corrupt, or something to that effect anyway.

Anyone got a clue how to get to the info or save this file???

If it's in the correct format (xls) and your only copy, you'll have to redo it.

thanks closed but what do you mean by 'redo', start again? Is there no way of recovering the information, this is a file with many sheets used for many months so hopefully someone can help us get the file open.

Try copying it to your hard disk.

Yes, start again. A repair tool might be able to recover something, but don't know of any free ones.

Which computer was it created on, any xlk backups about?
