Ive just found out that my card details have been used for test purchases and for buying subscriptions for mobile phones and satllite subscriptions. its most likely a dodgy site that I used that was compromised but if i do a hijack, malware scan and a super antispyware scan then I should be ok in terms being secure. Is there a firefox add on i could download which would also assist.

Has the money been taken out? Have you contacted the bank and police?

the money wasnt taken out as mbna picked up on the transactions as being fraudulant so no need to call the police imo, the details

anyway, another question i have is when i go to play.com in the bottom left corner of the screen theres a podlock but its got a red ! on top of it, does this padlock and red ! mean the site isnt secure whereas other sites i goto eg amazon the padlock is there and it seems like its locked

Certainly, until you login, there is indeed a red exclamation mark! After logging in, that immediately changes to a yellow locked padlock. When you double-click on the red!, does the browser give you any info?

Thanks, ive seen that thread but im not even sure if play.com is at fault here, i only noticed the padlock with a red ! today

yes it gives details of the sites security etc
